Pair of late goals gives men's soccer win in regular season finale

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. -- Needing at least a draw to finish third in the OCAA Central and secure a playoff date on home turf, the Sheridan Bruins men's soccer team (4-4-2 OCAA) scored in consecutive minutes late in the second half to down UTM 2-1 in their regular season finale.

Jamil Spencer got the Double-Blue on the board in the 77th minute, followed by Hardip Grewal just a minute later.

UTM was able to pull one back in the 81st minute, but were not able to draw any closer.

The Bruins will now host Fanshawe in an OCAA Championship qualifier on Sunday, October 23 (12pm).

Fanshawe finished second in the West Division with a 7-1-2 record, scoring 24 goals, while conceding nine.

They closed the regular season with a scoreless draw at St. Clair, that gave the Saints the West Division title.
