Early second half goals pushes men's soccer past UTM

across, Ont. -- The Sheridan Bruins men's soccer team (2-1 OCAA) managed to rebound from their first defeat against George Brown four days earlier, getting an early second half goal to hold off UTM 1-0.

"Today I thought we played okay, [but] it's not the best game I've seen us play so far out of all the games," head coach Andrew Seuradge said. "We worked hard, it wasn't our best performance but we still got the result."

The game remained scoreless coming out of the interval, but Kristian Ceko got the Bruins on the board two minutes into the second half blasting a free kick 25-yards from goal past Josh Bowman.

Sheridan had an 11-10 advantage in shot attempts, though UTM managed to get seven on target, while the Double-Blue had six.

Konstantinos Mermigas turned aside all seven to keep the sheet clean for the Bruins.

They will go back on the road on September 25 travelling to take on Niagara and Seuradge has a clear view of what they need to work on in order to prepare.

"We've got to work on a lot of things, but mostly set pieces and getting the ball accross," he said.
