OAKVILLE, Ont. - Although they really took centre stage during the OCAA playoffs, the Sheridan Bruins men's rugby team (8-1 OCAA) also completed their best regular season in team history, culminating in OCAA All-Star nods for Jad Hamade, Tristian Hylton, Owen Schimpl, and Justin Tota.
Hamade - recognized as the OCAA's leading scorer with 67 points (five tries, 18 converts, two penalties) - is receiving the recognition for the second time in his career, having been an All-Star during his freshman campaign in 2015.
Schimpl scored three tries and kicked seven converts during the year, and was named an All-Star for a second straight season.
Tota (two tries) and Hylton (three tries) received All-Star recognition for the first time.
Head coach Rick Bria was also rewarded for a stellar regular season as the West Division and overall OCAA Coach of the Year.
The Bruins established several new team records this season, including points in a season (270), points in a game (73), and single game margin of victory (67).
