HAMILTON, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's basketball team (23-6, 13-4 OCAA) dropped a second straight contest, falling 91-84 to Mohawk. 

"It's February, it's college basketball, [and] it's the OCAA West. There's nothing predictable about it," head coach Jim Flack said. 

The game was tight at the break, with Mohawk holding a slim 45-43 advantage, but a third quarter where the homeside out-scored the Bruins 28-19, made it an 11-point game entering the final frame.

Sheridan was able to trim the margin to three late, but could never make it all the way back. 

After suffering a second straight defeat, Flack was 

"We have to get back to being mentally tough," he said. "It's the type of toughness that employs concentration when you are tired or the game is on the line and you need to make a layup or a free throw. There are flashes of it, but it's becoming too infrequent and not enough players are demonstrating it.

"They're frustrated, we're frustrated, but the coaches met for an extended period after the game, and we have some fixes in mind. But ultimately the answer has to come from within the room. Some guys need to start knocking down open looks, that's for sure." 

The Double Blue are back in action on Feb. 14, with a trip to UTM (8pm).
