David Suzuki wins 2018 Sheridan Cup

BRAMPTON, Ont. - The David Suzuki Grizzlies are champions of the 25th edition of the Sheridan Cup high school basketball tournament, defeating the d'Youville Panthers 71-66 in the championship game. 

They made their way into the final after an 89-75 preliminary round win over West Humber in the tournament's opening contest, followed by a semi final victory over Brampton Centennial (71-58).

Meanwhile, d'Youville - who was playing in the championship game for the 10th time - advanced after wins over Louise Arbour (73-44) and Pickering (52-46 in overtime).

The tournament All-Star team was comprised of Rayshawn Scarlett and Jalen Roberts from d'Youville, alongside David Suzuki's Kameron David and Kareem Hodgkin, while Dominique Dennis - who scored a game-high 28 points in the championship game - was named MVP.
