Men's basketball wrap up home schedule with sweep of Sault

BRAMPTON, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's basketball team (29-3, 14-0 OCAA) completed the home portion of their schedule with a pair of victories over Sault, 88-45 on Saturday and 107-58 on Sunday. 

In the opener, the Bruins held 28.4 per cent shooting for the game and had conceded only 30 points by the end of the third quarter. 

Ostap Choliy scored a game-high 25, whle Brian Owusu was also in double figures with 13 and Tremain Hibbert ripped down 19 boards.

In the second game, Sheridan jumped all over Sault earlier on with a 19-0 run opening up a 24-5 advantage that they would not relinquish.

Playing his final game on the Bruins home court in a Sheridan uniform, Dylan Periana scored 10 in the opening frame and went on to post a season-high 25.

Choliy (16), Paul Williams (14 points, 11 rebounds), Owusu (11) and Hibbert (11) were also in double figures for the Double-Blue.

They will wrap up the regular season with a trip to Southwestern Ontario this weekend, taking on Lambton (February 18, 8pm) and St. Clair (February 19, 3pm).
