First commit to 2016-17 Bruins

BRAMPTON, Ont. — The Sheridan Bruins men's basketball team announced today the commitment of 6'2″ guard Ishan Virdi, a standout player from Brampton Centennial Secondary School.

"Ishan has great potential, demonstrated by a high basketball IQ and a commitment to academics," head coach Jim Flack said. "He's well aware that we expect performance in the classroom and on the court and he is excited about stepping up to the challenge."

Virdi will wear Double-Blue after an outstanding career with Canada Elite and he also joins a long list of BCSS Bucks to play for Sheridan.

"The coaches at Centennial understand that we insist on persistence to graduation, and that our program mirrors the values that they instill with their team," said basketball coordinator Tahir Khan. "We have had great success with their guys and we know it will continue with Ishan. He's a great young man and a very talented player."
