Amy Ramsey
Amy Ramsey

Not big in stature, Amy compensated with heart and desire. She packaged an intense competitiveness with outstanding skating ability that made her tough to contain as evidenced by her 53 goals and 44 assists for a total of 97 career points over two seasons.

Amy, nicknamed “Spud” because she is a native of Prince Edward Island, led the Bruins in her first year to the OCAA provincial tournament, losing a heartbreaker in the finals, 4-3 to Seneca College.

She was captain of the Bruins in her second year and won Female Athlete of the Year honours in 1978-79. As a member of our fifth Bruins women’s hockey team, Amy’s exceptional skills set new standards for the players who followed. She was committed to her academics as she was to her sport, graduating from the two-year Sports Injury Management Program in 1979.

Amy did not stop after Sheridan. Her pursuit of excellence saw her go on to Seneca in Business Administration, a BA from York University, ultimately her Masters and a PhD. At the time of her induction she was working in Law Enforcement with the OPP.
