Some observers feel that the 1984-85 Sheridan Bruins might be the best college team ever. It is an argument that may be very hard to fight against.

The 84-85 Bruins sported an overall record of 40wins and 5losses and a league record of 21-1. The 40 wins set a school record and the 5 losses only included on against a CCAA opponent.

This Sheridan squad had key tournament championships at Centennial College and at Dawson College, but it was in the playoffs where the Bruins made history.

In the final 4 at Mohawk, they defeated Fanshawe in the semi-final and Mohawk in a thrilling OCAA Championship. This Championship was the first in a long line of Sheridan OCAA titles.

Once in Saskatchewan the site of the CCAA finals, the Bruins got down to business.

Humiliating defeats of STI 90-45, Nova Scotia Teachers College 101-51 and a lopsided 84-67 Final over Southern Alberta Institute of Technology gave Sheridan their first National title.

This collection of players and coaches included some of the greatest players in OCAA history and these men went on to have successful careers in their post-Sheridan careers.
