Women's volleyball have 3-match winning streak snapped

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team (15-8, 8-6 OCAA) saw their three-match winning streak snapped, dropping a 3-1 decision to Fanshawe.

The visitors claimed the opening set 25-21, before the Double Blue battled back to take the second 26-24.

They were unable to maintain that level though, and were closed out in the next two, 25-15 and 25-19.

Taylor Ley (10 kills, one ace, one block) and Katelyn Long (five kills, four blocks, one ace) were both in double figures for the Bruins, while Sydney Romans posted 20 digs.

Three seniors - Kayla Vandekamp, Mani Alvarez, and Joelle Parnham - were recognized for their contributions to the program during Senior Night.

The Bruins currently have a very precarious grip on fourth place in the OCAA West - which would see them in line to host an opening round playoff game - and have a crucial contest against Mohawk next Friday.
