Women's volleyball sweep Redeemer

ANCASTER, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team (5-0, 2-0 OCAA) picked up a second straight win against competition from the Hamilton area Saturday, downing Redeemer in three sets.

The Bruins were dominant in the first set, collecting the opener 25-12.

Redeemer got progressively closer in each subsequent set, but the Double-Blue still got the better of the exchanges with 25-20 and 26-24 wins.

Amanda Manley scored a team-high eight points (two kills, four aces, two blocks), while Taylor Ley (three kills, three aces, one block), Tara Aune (five kills, one block), Katelyn Long (five kills), and Rachel Abrahams (one kill, three aces) rounded out the rest of the Sheridan offence.

While Sheridan held a narrow advantage in total offence - 30-27 - they posted five more kills (16-11) while commiting five less than errors (10) than Redeemer (15).

The club is back on the road next weekend, with a swing trip to southwestern Ontario for matches against St. Clair (Nov. 10) and Fanshawe (Nov. 11).
