WINDSOR, Ont. - With little time before the end of the regular season, the Sheridan Bruins women's volleyball team (6-9 OCAA) suffered a setback in their push to secure a playoff spot, falling 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-16) to St. Clair.
"We really struggled today. To win matches in this league you have to bring it every game [and] were not sharp today mentally or physically," head coach Scott Hunt said. "When you get out-worked and are less emotionally invested than your opponent it's a recipe for disaster. Full marks to St. Clair today as they were the better club. We have to find a way to compete with passion and scrap out some wins down the stretch."
After the loss, the Double-Blue are sitting in seventh place in the OCAA West, one spot out of the playoff picture.
They have a critical showdown with Mohawk - who sits two spots above them in the standings - at home on February 3 (6pm).
