Women's basketball announces 2018-19 schedule

BRAMPTON, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team announced today their league schedule for 2018-19, with play set to open on Oct. 20 at home vs. St. Clair.

"We're looking forward to the challenge this year will present," head coach Sean Douglas said. "We have a really solid group returning, and we can't wait to get to work."

The 20-game league schedule will feature 11 home games with nine road contests, as the Bruins are in a home cycle with Sault College, who visit for a pair of games on Oct. 27 and 28.

November is split into three road contests within the first 10 days - at Redeemer on Nov. 2, at Humber on Nov. 7, and at UTM on Nov. 10 - and three home games - against Fanshawe (Nov. 16), Lambton (Nov. 24), and Mohawk (Nov. 27) - in the second half.

Sheridan will close out the first half of the season with trips to Conestoga on Dec. 1 and Niagara on Dec. 6.

A swing trip through southwestern Ontario for games against Lambton on Jan. 12 and St. Clair on Jan. 13 opens the second semester, and January closes with games at home against Conestoga on Jan. 19 and Niagara on Jan. 29.

The Double Blue will play three games within a week early in February, hosting UTM (Feb. 2) and Redeemer (Feb. 5), before travelling to Mohawk (Feb. 8), and the regular season will wrap up with a trip to Fanshawe on Feb. 13 and a home date against Humber on Senior Night, Feb. 15.

St. Lawrence will host the OCAA Championship in Kingston Feb. 28-March 2, while Sainte-Foy will host the CCAA National Championship just outside Quebec City, March 13-16.
