Women's basketball snap two-game slide with win over UTM

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team (11-13, 9-9 OCAA) snapped a mini two-game slide, downing UTM 78-63 in their penultimate road contest.

"It was a good performance," head coach Willie Delas said. "For a first year team, UTM has made some big strides throughout the year, but we did what we needed to do in order to put them away in the second half."

It was a slow start for the Double Blue, trailing 15-14 after one and 35-27 at the half.

They began to open things in the third quarter, however, out-scoring the homeside 23-9 to take a 50-44 advantage into the final period.

The Bruins will play their final home game on Feb. 18, when they host St. Clair (1pm).
