Women's basketball split with Lambton, St. Clair

WINDSOR, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team (5-5, 3-3 OCAA) ran their win streak to three with an 82-62 triumph over Lambton, but were unable to extend it to four with a 70-64 loss to St. Clair.

Lambton led 22-18 after the opening quarter, but saw the Double-Blue out-score them 30-6 in the second frame to lead 48-28 at the break.

While the Bruins didn't quite have the same offensive output in the second half, their cushion was large enough to sustain any Lambton runs.

Brianna Stewart scored a game-high 26, while three other Sheridan players - Theresa Brown (15), Audrey Carin (14), Sydney Charvis (12) - hit double figures.

Against St. Clair, the home side led 16-14 after one and saw the lead swell to 13, 39-26, at the half.

The Double-Blue trailed 53-40 going into the final period, and they managed to make it close, but couldn't overcome the deficit.

They will host Humber on Nov. 23 (6pm).
