Women's basketball fall to Humber

BRAMPTON, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins women's basketball team (3-20, 2-11 OCAA) saw Division-leading Humber get off to a quick start and were never able to recover in an 89-54 defeat.

"They're a great team and they put a lot of pressure on you in many different areas and we just couldn't find a way to make up that difference," head coach Willie Delas said.

Humber scored 25 in the opening frame and added 22 in the second to take a 47-25 lead into the break.

In the second half the combination of Humber's defending and efficiency at the offensive end of the floor -- connecting on 17 of 36 attempts from the floor, including six of 13 from beyond the arc -- prevented the Lady Bruins from putting together any sustained runs.

Theresa Brown scored a team-high 21 points, while Samantha Lovat was also in double figures with 10.

The team will travel to Mohawk on February 7, in a game that was re-scheduled from January 25.
