Men's volleyball fall in second straight five-setter

OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's volleyball team (2-4 OCAA) nearly climbed all the way back after falling into a 2-0 hole, but couldn't complete the comeback in a 3-2 loss to Conestoga.

Conestoga won the first two in a pair of tightly contested sets, 30-28 and 25-23, while the Bruins levelled the match with 25-17 and 25-20 wins.

In the fifth set, Conestoga got out to an 8-5 lead at the changeover and managed to hang on for a 17-15 win.

Three Sheridan players scored a match-high 17 points - Michael Kong (12 kills, three aces, two blocks), Chris Adams (13 kills, two aces, two blocks), and Andre Zopf (16 kills, one ace) - while Matt Stokes was also in double figures with 16 points (nine kills, seven blocks).

Blue notes: The match marks the third time this season the Double-Blue have scored more points than their opposition in a five-set contest, but come out on the losing end.
