Men's rugby suffers setback in loss to Georgian

BARRIE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's rugby team (3-1 OCAA) found themselves in an early hole and were unable to climb out of it, suffering a 50-17 loss to their rivals from Georgian.

"Clearly we weren't at our best tonight, but full marks to Georgian, they're a really strong side," head coach Rick Bria said. "We're not going to dwell on this one for too long, and we're not going to make excuses or feel sorry for ourselves either. We'll look at the tape, see where we can make some corrections, and get back to work next week."

Georgian ran back the opening kickoff for a try and had piled up 33 points before a Tristian Hylton-Hastings try got the Double Blue on the board.

The second half was considerably tighter, with the home side holding a 17-12 advantage after the interval as Brandon Roberts scored two second half tries, and Jeffrey Fallows tacked on one convert to round out the scoring for the Bruins.

Sheridan has another tough road game looming, travelling to Seneca on Oct. 11.
