OAKVILLE, Ont. - After falling into a 12-0 deficit inside the opening half hour, the Sheridan Bruins men's rugby team (3-0 OCAA) reeled off 29-straight points to wrestle control of the game away from Seneca, powering them to a 29-17 victory. 

"We played pretty well in the first half, but we kept making small mistakes that either took away our opportunities or created ones for them," head coach Rick Bria said. "In the second half we cleaned those up and were able to come away with an important win." 

Seneca was on the board in the sixth minute and after Tristian Hylton-Hastings was sent to the sin bin, tacked on a second try to lead 12-0. Though they were down a man, the Bruins narrowed the gap to 12-5, as Justin Tota evaded one defender while dragging several would-be tacklers with him as he lunged to touch it down. 

The Double Blue came out charging after the intermission and put 17 points on the board within 13 minutes, as Hylton and Tota each scored tries, while the latter tacked on two converts and a penalty kick to give the home side a 22-12 lead. 

Brandon Roberts added a 62nd minute try to secure the bonus point for Sheridan, while Seneca added a late try to narrow the margin without threatening the Bruin lead. 

Sheridan will travel to take on their rivals from Georgian under the lights on Oct. 4 (7pm) and Bria knows they must be ready to go from the opening kickoff until the final whistle. 

"We need to be on-point for the full 80 minutes," he said. "We know they're a really strong side and we're looking forward to the challenge of testing ourselves against them."
