Men's basketball outlast Humber in 115th edition of The Game

REXDALE, Ont. -- The Sheridan Bruins men's basketball team (13-2, 5-0 OCAA) outlasted their rivals from Humber down the stretch, winning the 115th edition of The Game 79-74.

The opening quarter was a series of runs from both sides, with Humber opening on a 6-0 run and Sheridan closing the frame on a 7-0 run that kept it tied at 13.

Neither side was able to take full command of the game with seven points being the largest spread at any point and with the game tied after each of the first three quarters -- 35-35 at the half and 58-58 after three quarters.

The Double-Blue were able to slowly wrestle control away late, getting some key stops in the fourth quarter and holding Humber to one of 12 shooting from beyond the arc in the second half.

Sheridan will take a short break from conference play, hosting Villa Maria on November 15 and UTM on November 19.

Blue notes: The Bruins now squeek slightly ahead in the all-time series with a 48-47 record in The Game.
