BRAMPTON, Ont. -- In their third game in an eight-day stretch, the Sheridan Bruins men's basketball team (12-2, 4-0 OCAA) showed no signs of fatigue, jumping all over Mohawk from the opening tip and never looking back in a 110-77 triumph.

"When you shoot the ball the way we did in the first half, you just accept your good luck and move on," head coach Jim Flack said. "You can't expect to do it every night, but we have the capacity to do that every once in a while."

The Double-Blue opened the game on a 10-0 run over the opening 2:15 and would increase their advantage to 21 (37-16) by the end of the period. 

In the second quarter, they continued to apply pressure to Mohawk via the three-ball and connected on 13 of 21 first half attempts from deep, leading 67-28 at the break. 

Although Mohawk would ultimately win the second half, the margin was so great the result was already academic at that stage.

For the game, the Bruins went on to hit 17 of their 31 shots from beyond the arc.

Ostap Choliy scored a game-high 23 (including connecting on six of 10 three-point attempts), while Dylan Periana (19), Brian Owusu (19), Tremaine Hibbert (15) and Nick Campbell (11) all hit double figures for the Bruins.

After a packed start to the OCAA West schedule, the Bruins now have 11 days to prepare for the renewal of their rivalry with Humber as the 115th edition of The Game will take place on November 12 at Humber (6pm). 

Blue notes: It was the 112th time in team history that the Bruins have topped the century mark in OCAA play. Thirteen of those occasions have come against Mohawk, the second most against any club other than Cambrian (15).
